Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (POWTS), which are commonly referred to as septic systems, are one of our key specialties at Young's Plumbing.

These essential systems are necessary when public sewer services are not available to a home or property. There are several different types of POWTS, including conventional systems, mound systems, and holding tanks, each designed to suit various site conditions. The specific type of system required is determined by the characteristics of the soil at the project site. To ensure accuracy and compliance, we collaborate closely with a certified soil tester (CST) who assesses the onsite soil types and conditions. Once soil testing has been carefully completed, a tailored POWTS can then be designed to meet the unique needs of your project. Important design factors that are taken into account for the design include the soil type, the size of your home (specifically the number of bedrooms), county ordinances, and state regulations. After the design is finalized, the necessary permits will be filed with your county, and in the event that a mound system is deemed necessary, additional permits will be submitted to the state as well. Once all permits are approved and weather/soil conditions work in our favor your project can get underway.
